Regardless of whether you are running a company or just starting, it’s easy to overlook the importance of identifying and acknowledging the values and philosophy your company will be built upon. Depending on what you value, the culture will vary massively. 

Culture is a way to drive behavior, so it’s key to ensure that the hard conversations about personal priorities, ambition, and the general vision for the business are covered in detail and aligned. It’s also an excellent opportunity to unite around the type of company you want to build and why. 

The earlier you do this work, the more natural things will flow. Don’t get me wrong; running a company is a crazy rollercoaster with great highs and challenging lows. However, with an aligned founder/founders and an intentionally designed culture, the ride is vastly more enjoyable.
